The Position

Lawn Care: Technicians will be able to diagnose many turfgrass problems such as weeds, disease, and insects that may be present in a lawn and treat accordingly. A successful candidate will have the desire for continued learning and seek to obtain certifications through the Maryland Department of Agriculture, if not already certified. Pro Grass Inc. will provide educational opportunities to help candidates achieve certifications.

Pest Control: The duties of a Pro Grass pest control technician include conducting inspections for undesirable insects, identifying hot spots, and treating the property accordingly. Techs will be responsible for spraying mosquito control, perimeter pest control, and flea and tick control. Techs are expected to maintain a professional manner and appearance when talking to customers and doing the treatment. Techs are not required to spray indoors, outdoor applications only.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Background or Education in turf, plant science or equivalent experience is beneficial
• Well rounded and driven individuals who want to grow their knowledge in turfgrass
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass DOT physical
• Must have ability to work outside in unpredicted weather conditions
• Clean driving record
• Spraying perimeters of homes and surrounding shrubs and trees for ants, mosquitos, spiders and other insects
• Follow a route schedule within assigned territory, ensuring timely and safe arrival at each customer
• Operate a company vehicle safely and ensure cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment
• Tech must follow company standards in applying chemicals, follow safety procedures, and be able to handle daily tasks.
• Be able to do basic math to mix chemicals and fill out company forms.
• Be able to handle customer problems or request
• Building and maintaining good customer relations
• Participating in continued company training and meetings
• High school graduate or GED is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

$2,500 sign-on bonus depending on experience.

Expected hours: 40 per week
