The candidate will engage in functional and structural studies of toxin binding proteins. Specific focus is on defining mechanisms by which natural and designed toxin binding proteins sequester various types of small molecule toxins and prevent their actions on ion channels. The candidate will be responsible for conducting biochemical, structural and electrophysiological studies. Required Qualifications

  • Specialist appointed at the Associate rank must possess a Masters degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in biochemical, structural, and functional characterization of toxin binding proteins.
  • Demonstrated proficiency protein expression and purification using insect and mammalian cells.
  • Demonstrated proficiency gene cloning, mutant generation, cell transfections, and cell culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • >5 years postdoctoral experience in the study of toxin binding proteins using structural and functional methods.
  • Post-graduate training in field.
