Job Description

Description:

OuterBox is looking for a Web Project SEO Specialist to join our Team! In this critical role, you will ensure that new websites and redesigns are fully optimized for search engine visibility at launch. We seek a detail-oriented and technically proficient SEO expert who thrives in cross-functional environments.

As our Web Project SEO Specialist, you will collaborate closely with developers, designers, strategists, and project managers to implement best-practice SEO strategies across site builds and migrations. You will also play a key role in building and evolving scalable processes that keep OuterBox ahead of search trends, ensuring every site launches with a strong organic foundation.

Job Responsibilities:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Serve as the SEO lead on all assigned web build and redesign projects, ensuring technical and on-page SEO elements are implemented correctly before launch.
  • Create and manage SEO QA checklists and sign-off protocols for pre-launch workflows, including metadata, heading structures, URL conventions, schema, indexing rules, canonical strategies, and more.
  • Collaborate with development and design teams to ensure that SEO best practices are considered throughout the design and build process.
  • Audit staging sites and prototypes to identify SEO gaps and risks before go-live; provide clear, prioritized recommendations and validate corrections.
  • Partner with project managers to align SEO timelines and dependencies within broader project schedules.
  • Lead technical SEO setup for new domains and migrations, including redirects, canonical logic, hreflang, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, and GSC/Bing setup.
  • Work directly with clients and internal teams to educate on SEO launch-readiness principles and gain buy-in on recommendations.
  • Develop documentation, process guides, and internal training to improve future execution of SEO in web builds and to reduce errors or missed opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with search engine algorithm changes and evolving SEO standards, with a focus on how they impact web development and architecture.
  • Actively participate in process innovation and tooling improvements that drive repeatability and efficiency in our launch SEO services.
  • Maintain visibility into project milestones and anticipate when SEO reviews are required; ensure nothing launches without final SEO approval.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at every stage of the build process to advocate for SEO needs without disrupting timelines.
  • Support site launches by validating post-launch SEO performance and addressing any indexing or ranking issues quickly.
  • Contribute to broader SEO team knowledge sharing by highlighting learnings and edge cases from web projects.

Other duties, as assigned.
