Performs venipuncture as required for exam. Measures and administers isotopes for procedure.
Positions patient to obtain desired views.
Performs series of images as appropriate. Sends images to PACS for Radiologist interpretation.
Completes documentation for radiation safety program and equipment testing .
Prepares patient for exam by completing questionnaires and other documentation required for procedure
Educates patient and/or family on procedure to be performed. Checks prep and maintains patient exam, history and files.
Rotates call assignment as needed for 24-hour coverage; schedules patients in section and coordinates scheduling with other departments to ensure patient flow.
Maintains and rotates supplies in assigned workstation and demonstrates cost efficient use of departmental resources.
Adheres to dress code.
Functions as a preceptor to orient new employees.
Meets all departmental specific competencies.
Adheres to medical center policies addressing infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines.
Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with the medical center code of conduct and applicable corporate policies and procedures.
Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity.
Performs any other duties as assigned or requested.
Ability to operate Nuclear Medicine equipment required. Knowledge of Keyboard Patient Registration and Sieman Software required.
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology/Nuclear Medicine program required.
NMTCB or ARRT certification required.
Kentucky State certification required.
