Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU night shift position requiring delivery attendance and Epic experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Hospital-based Level III NICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Will attend deliveries and provide care for neonates
• May float to the Normal Newborn Nursery (NOU) with a 1:4-6 ratio
• Self-scheduling with every other weekend and holiday shifts required
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hour shifts, 18:45-07:15)
• Expected to work at least one major and one minor holiday
• Scrubs required in grape/purple color
• Responsibilities include attending deliveries, admitting and discharging neonates, assisting with newborn transition and breastfeeding support, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
• Expected to participate in family education and communication
• Must be comfortable floating to newborn nursery as needed
• RTO requests are limited and coverage during Mardi Gras is expected
• Holiday coverage is required per unit policy

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active LA or compact RN license
• Minimum 3 years of Level III NICU RN experience required
• Must have BLS and NRP certifications
• Must have experience attending deliveries (vaginal and cesarean)
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficiency in neonatal IV placement, blood draws, ventilator and central line management, and blood administration
• Experience assisting with advanced procedures including chest tube, PICC, UAC/UVC placement, and exchange transfusions
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Applicants must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• Permanent employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year to be eligible for travel positions
