Technical Writer- Level I

Contract

- 100% onsite at one of 3 locations (TBD): Delta College (1961 Delta Rd, University Center, MI 48710), Horizons Conference Center (6200 State St, Saginaw, MI 48603) OR Hemlock Solar Plant (1885 N Orr Rd, Hemlock, MI 48626)

This is an ITAR facility. Candidates must be complaint with DOD/ITAR requirements and be US citizens or nationals.

Required skills:

- 2 years experience as a Tech Writer for a manufacturing company. Candidates must be able to hit the ground running writing SOP's.

- Associates preferred

Responsibilities:

• Develop, write, edit, and format technical documentation that includes process manuals, system specifications, guideline documents, and procedure manuals.

• Collaborate with teams across departments to gather and interpret information about their documentation needs.

• Standardize content across platforms and media to ensure consistency and clarity.

• Review and edit existing documentation to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards.

• Work closely with project teams to understand product details and develop appropriate content.

• Convert complex technical terminologies into user-friendly language to ensure understandability.

• Conduct periodic reviews and revisions of documents to ensure that the updates and changes in the processes are captured accurately.

Education & Experience

• An associate degree preferred in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field OR currently enrolled in one of these programs at an accredited college/university.

• 2 years experience as a Technical Writer for a manufacturing company

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

• Proficient in using MS Office and other documentation tools.

• Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
