Position Summary:

The Solutions Architect (SA) will be engaged in pre-sales activities, with vendor-specific knowledge, certifications, and specializations to support that expertise. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with solutions involving servers, storage, networking, operating systems (Unix/Linux and Microsoft), hypervisors, virtualization technology, and cyber security, as well as backup and recovery solutions. A general understanding of data management solutions and methodologies is essential, along with hands-on virtualization experience and a strong Cyber Security background.

What you'll do:

  • Gather requirements and translate them into solutions for customers/prospects.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop winning strategies.
  • Establish relationships with technical staff of partners and providers.
  • Use vendor configuration tools to create enterprise-level solutions for customers/prospects.
  • Create diagrams and complex drawings/rack elevations using software such as Visio.
  • Respond to RFPs and RFQs specific to the NAVY 2 team.
  • Conduct customer presentations on proposed solutions and new technology.
  • Identify new prospective customers within assigned geographic regions.
  • Work with Epoch staff to ensure Cyber Security compliance and certifications.
  • Maintain specific Vendor/OEM training certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Systems Architecture and Engineering or a related technical role in projects for government or industry clients.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Visio, Excel).
  • Experience or familiarity with USG Procurement methodologies.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience demonstrating product features and benefits.
  • Experience with IT Data Center infrastructure, storage, backup, archiving, and business continuity.
  • Security clearance(s) or eligibility to acquire one.
  • Knowledge/experience in Unix, Windows Server, commercial cloud solutions, virtualization (VMWare ESX, CentOS KVM), HA configurations, TCP/IP Networking, network switches/routers, and cyber security.
  • High industry knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
