The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County provides opportunities for people to connect with nature. We offer to the public 60 forest preserves, 145 miles of trails, 47 miles of rivers and streams, and 6 nature and cultural centers. We have 6 million visitors each year.

The District's mission is, "to acquire and hold lands containing forests, prairies, wetlands and associated plant communities or lands capable of being restored to such natural conditions for the purpose of protecting and preserving the flora, fauna and scenic beauty for the education, pleasure and recreation of its citizens.

Job Summary
This position maintains a clean kitchen at the Greenway Tap restaurant by properly washing and sorting dishware and maintaining a clean and organized dish station.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Clean and sanitize soiled china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers. Sort, stack, and store cleaned items.
• Operate dishwashing equipment including a commercial dishwasher and dishwashing sinks.
• Monitor concentrations of chemicals used in dishwashing.
• Maintain a safe, clean, sanitary, and organized workstation including equipment, tables, shelves, and floors. Ensure that workstations are adequately stocked with supplies and that equipment is in working order.
• Maintain trash cans, remove full trash cans and boxes at end of shift.
• Assist in the receiving of food and supply deliveries.
• Assist in food preparation as needed.
• Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits; Become familiar with and observe all applicable safety rules, policies, and work procedures; Follow all safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the District's safety and risk management program; Keep work area clean, orderly, and free of hazards; Immediately report all unsafe conditions and incidents.
• Maintain a supportive working environment and demonstrate a desire to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:
• 16 years of age or older at time of hire.
• 6 months of experience as a dishwasher in a high-volume kitchen environment preferred.
• Must have and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or obtain upon hire (training provided).
• Must have and maintain Illinois Food Handler Training and Certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of restaurant sanitation standards and food safety procedures.
• Familiarity with kitchen dishwashing equipment including sinks, cleaning chemicals, and dishwashing machines.

Schedule: Variable hours between 6 to 8 hours daily that depend on level of restaurant and event business.

Pay: $15 - $18 per hour.

Work Environment: Requires working indoors, including in walk-in coolers and freezers. Exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and sharp objects including knives.

Location: The Greenway Tap Restaurant at the Preserve at Oak Meadows Golf Course in Addison, IL.
