Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Transplant Coordinator RN to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons? Transplant nurses are a crucial part of the organ transplant team. In fact, it is the transplant nurse who often has the most contact with the patient. Transplant nurses are involved in every step of the organ donation process, from preparing the patient for surgery to monitoring the transplant recipient’s health afterward.

Responsibilities:

• The Transplant Coordinator serves as liaison with the transplant team, nephrologists, consulting services, dialysis facilities, dietitians, and social workers as they involve pre-transplant patients.
• Coordinates all potential transplant patient evaluations. 
• Coordinates and presents all preoperative teaching and scheduling for recipients and living donors. 
• Coordinates flow of patients on UNOS waiting list with OPO. 
• Available on-call for recipient donor calls.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma
