Our client, a leader in renewable energy engineering, is seeking a Senior Plant Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Plant Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Plant Controls Engineering department supporting the SCADA and Plant Controls team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a high attention to detail, and a proactive mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title:  Senior Plant Controls Engineer

Location:  Austin, TX

What’s the Job?

• Lead SCADA design, configuration, and commissioning for utility-scale renewable energy projects while mentoring junior engineers.

• Coordinate across engineering disciplines and project managers to ensure technical and timeline requirements are met.

• Oversee contractor work, generate technical documentation, and ensure compliance with SCADA standards.

• Commission substation equipment and plant networks while driving operational performance improvements.

• Support strategic goals of the SCADA team by developing new standards and refining internal processes.

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 8+ years of experience working with control systems and SCADA platforms.

• Strong knowledge of network design including VLANs, fiber/ethernet, and switch configuration.

• Experience with RTU/plant controller configuration and development of technical documentation.

• Proven success leading commissioning and oversight of technical contractors.
