Job Posting: Payroll Lead
Location: Thornton, CO (Hybrid after training)
Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 DOE
Schedule: Full-time | Core hours 9am–5pm | 2 days WFH after training
Our client, a dynamic company in a fast-paced, startup-style environment, is seeking a Payroll Lead to take ownership of their bi-weekly multi-state payroll process. This highly visible role sits within the Finance team but collaborates closely with HR, and offers the opportunity to contribute across payroll, equity, severance, and benefits administration functions. Key Responsibilities – Payroll Lead :Own and run bi-weekly payroll for 225 employees across multiple states using UKG Ready
Administer severance payrolls, equity/RSU payments, and final payouts (PTO, ESPP) in line with agreements
Collaborate with Accounting for journal entry support in SAP; reconcile payroll reports and deductions
Manage post-payroll processing: 401(k), HSA, FSA remittances and related payroll compliance items
Maintain payroll documentation, SOPs, and checklists
Provide audit support, manage payroll inbox activity, and help resolve payroll-related questions
Assist with long-term benefits administration and process improvements
3+ years of multi-state, full-cycle payroll experience
Familiarity with UKG Ready or similar cloud-based payroll system (UKG Workforce Timekeeping a plus)
Solid Excel skills including VLOOKUP and PivotTables
Strong attention to detail, documentation, and reconciliation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative, customer-service orientation
Comfortable working in Microsoft Teams and across systems (SAP, Fidelity, etc.)
The Payroll Lead will train onsite and move into a hybrid schedule (2 days WFH) after onboarding.
