Position: Network Engineer (Cisco/Juniper)

Location: Buford, GA

Type: Full-Time

Pay: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

As a Network Engineer , you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the computer networks of our clients, including mainframes, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, and other physical hardware. You will work closely with the technical team and management to ensure the highest levels of system security and performance.

*Must have consulting OR MSP experience*

*Must have experience configuring switches and troubleshooting VPNs*

*Must have experience with Juniper OR Cisco Routers and Switches*

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot computer networks, including mainframes, VPNs, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Install and configure network equipment to meet business requirements.
• Create and maintain firewalls, update virus protection software, and manage data security systems to safeguard sensitive information and communications.
• Monitor network performance and proactively optimize systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement disaster recovery procedures to protect against data loss and ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals and escalate complex issues when necessary.
• Stay updated on the latest security and networking best practices, offering the best solutions to enhance company and customer systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Hands-on experience with network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with virus protection software and data security systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to escalate and communicate issues clearly to management.
• In-depth understanding of security principles and best practices for network systems.
• Customer-focused with excellent attention to detail and the ability to provide tailored solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud solutions and virtualization technologies.
• Prior experience in a value-added reseller (VAR) environment is a plus.
