A Brief Overview

Performs high and moderate complexity testing with high degree of skill and proficiency. Ability to work all areas of the blood bank independently. Assists on projects and takes on additional tasks as needed under supervision. Follows all hospital policies and procedures consistently. Assists in training new staff and students.

Additional Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's/Associate Degree In biological or chemical science (Required) or
• Requirement specific in CLIA '88 to perform high complexity testing. (Required) and
• Graduate from a certified MT/MLT program. (Required)

Work Experience

• 2+ years experience preferred
