Compensation: $26,000 Base Salary, plus commission on both team closings and any self-sourced deals

About Peace Home Lending:Peace Home Lending is a small, high-performing mortgage team based in Fairfax, VA, dedicated to delivering proactive, efficient, and effective financing solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs. We’re seeking a reliable and licensed Mortgage Broker Assistant to support day-to-day operations, maintain service excellence, and help ensure nothing falls through the cracks. This is a salaried position with additional earning potential through commission on both team closings and your own self-sourced deals.
Requirements:· State Licensing: Active NMLS ID required. Must obtain licensing in all states where Peace Home Lending operates within 90 days of hire.
· Commute: Must be able to commute to the Fairfax, VA office 1–2 times per week and live within a reasonable distance.
· Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:Sales Duties:· Support outreach and engagement efforts with prospective borrowers and referral partners, including Realtors.
· Maintain CRM data integrity, including contact updates, tagging, and task management.
· Coordinate drip campaigns and track lead engagement to optimize follow-up strategies.
· Prepare marketing collateral or presentation materials for client and partner meetings.
· Assist with social media engagement, event planning, and referral partner appreciation efforts.
· Schedule and confirm calls or meetings with prospective clients and partners.
Mortgage Broker Duties:· Handle incoming calls and inquiries related to new loan applications.
· Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy prior to issuing prequalification or preapproval letters.
· Order and review credit reports, update the Uniform Residential Loan Application (Form 1003), price loan scenarios, and request title fee quotes.
· Prepare and send cost breakdowns to borrowers, reviewing them thoroughly and addressing any questions or concerns.
· Create documentation needs lists for preapproval review.
· Review incoming documents, ensure they are properly named, categorized, and allocated, and seek supervisor guidance when necessary.
· Prepare files for processing post-ratification, ensuring the 1003 is accurate and ready for initial disclosures.
· Assist in managing processing escalations and time-sensitive matters.
· Conduct post-closing follow-ups to maintain service quality and support long-term client retention.
Assistant Duties:· Administrative Support: Handle a range of personal and business-related administrative tasks and projects as they arise.
· Scheduling & Coordination: Manage calendars by scheduling meetings, appointments, and events for both personal and professional commitments.
· Documentation & Filing: Maintain organized systems for digital and physical files, ensuring documents and correspondence are easily accessible.
· Communication: Monitor and respond to emails and phone calls, ensuring timely follow-ups and professional communication.
· Errands & Logistics: Coordinate errands, travel plans, and procurement of office supplies or other necessities.
· Special Projects: Support occasional or one-time projects that contribute to the smooth operation of the business or personal affairs.
· General Support: Step in where needed to maintain an efficient and organized workflow across all areas of responsibility.
Qualifications:· Previous experience in loan origination or a related field is preferred.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
· Proven ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage competing priorities.
· Comfortable using computers and learning new software; familiarity with Microsoft Office and loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass) is a plus.
· Familiarity with mortgage industry regulations and compliance standards.
· Comfortable handling a mix of professional and personal tasks with flexibility and discretion.
