Job Summary Life University is looking for a full-time assistant/associate professor with expertise in the area of sport injury management and athletic training within the Sport Health Science Department. The Asst. /Assoc. faculty will be responsible for teaching a variety of sport injury management/athletic training related courses at the graduate and undergraduate level.
Responsibilities - Teach lecture and lab course in the area of sport injury management and athletic training type courses.
- Supervise and monitor students in practicum/clinical practices.
- Service to University & Community.
- Compliance with the Life University Honor Code as well as all University and college policies, including those in the Employee Handbook and the Faculty Handbook.
- Responsible for the instruction, supervision, evaluation and mentoring of students in and outside of the classroom and/or laboratory setting.
- On-going assessment of success in achieving learning goals of courses and program curriculum.
- Responsible for course and curriculum development and revision, using assessment results and best practices to guide decisions.
- Demonstrate assessment of success in achieving learning outcomes of course and program curricula.
- Maintenance of required academic records.
- Prepare a syllabus for each course taught according to the approved college template and post it to the respective Blackboard course.
- Remain current in the field of expertise. Development and implementation of a personal professional development program as approved by supervisor.
- Teach class in a professional manner, teaching the material that is present in the syllabus and course outline.
- Required to maintain and be available for student office hours for the primary purpose of communicating with students regarding assigned courses, mentoring and providing supplemental instruction, as required by the individual College.
- Engage in service to the university, local, and professional communities.
- Attend commencements, faculty and departmental meetings, faculty development programs, or other meetings/events as required.
Requirements - Must hold a minimum of the Ph.D. or DAT degree with the ATC credential with clinical experience.
- Teaching Experience at the Graduate Level.
