Job Description

Overview

The Esports Program Coordinator role at Rowan College at Burlington County manages the academic program and recreational daily requirements. The role focuses on curriculum planning and development, student recruitment and enrollment, advising and support, adjunct coordination, program promotion and outreach, evaluation and improvement, and record keeping.

Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty and professionals to create an industry advisory board and incorporate new Esports methodologies and technologies into the curriculum.
  • Student Advising and Support: Provide academic advising to Esports program students, help them choose courses and track progress toward graduation; offer guidance and support to students facing academic challenges or personal issues that may affect performance.
  • Recruitment and Enrollment: Collaborate with EMSS staff to implement strategies to attract prospective students to the Esports academic program; participate in recruitment events, fairs, and community events to promote the program and answer inquiries from potential students.
  • Program Promotion and Public Relations: Create marketing materials to showcase Esports offerings and work with the college's marketing department to increase visibility and engagement on social media and other platforms.
  • Faculty Coordination: Coordinate with the STEM Adjunct Coordinator to ensure course schedules and adjunct recruitment/retention; organize regular adjunct meetings to discuss program improvements, student performance, and emerging challenges.
  • Recreational Program Management (in Collaboration With Student Life): Create a recreation/league marketing plan, manage administrative duties (calls, emails, recruitment, etc.), manage inventory of equipment, plan recreation programs and events, and assist in safety policy development for Esports labs.
  • Institutional Effectiveness: Collaborate with department members and the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
Required Qualifications
  • Education Required: Associate's degree in sport/recreation management, education, or related field.
  • Experience Required: One (1) to two (2) years of directly related applicable experience; two years working with youth is preferred.
  • Skills/Abilities / Knowledge / Other Requirements: Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance; handle administrative tasks such as scheduling classes and processing student paperwork; ability to receive and delegate tasks to recreation groups and volunteers; prepare written reports; organize and prioritize workload; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain strong working relationships with participants and coworkers; knowledge of planning, organizing, promoting and evaluating recreation programs.
