The Educational Technology Master’s Program is seeking an adjunct instructor, for the Spring 2024 semester, to teach the course listed below. Below is a description of the course that needs staffing:
604: Digital Storytelling Lab. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the essentials of educational audio. Students will get their hands e-dirty with audio production: recording, editing, mixing, and publishing. We start by identifying the set of presentations students want to create, then move through the scripting, recording, editing, and mixing processes.
The secret to good media production is having good quality audio. This is true of podcasts and screencasts and video. Thus, the relevance of this course goes beyond audio-only presentations. The ethos of the course is to provide students with many opportunities to practice the audio creation cycle. In total students will create 30 minutes of content around a “topic area” that they individually define.
Schedule: Teaching Weekend Saturdays: 1:00 pm – 5:15 pm. Dates for Spring 2024 semester: 1/20, 1/27, 2/10, 2/24, 3/9, 3/23, 4/6, 4/20, 5/4.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications include an earned doctorate or Master’s degree in Educational Technology or a related field, and relevant expertise.
Instructions for Applying
Please submit (a) a cover letter stating your qualifications, (b) a resume or curriculum vitae, and (c) three recommendation letters concerning your teaching qualifications for this application. If the department is interested in your application, you will be contacted.
