Job Description

Field Service Technician Qualifications
  • EPA certification and strong commitment to workplace safety.

  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs as needed.

  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks and adjusting to changing priorities.

  • Strong customer-focus with a commitment to delivering excellent service.

  • High school diploma or GED, along with a valid driver s license.

  • Capable of lifting and transporting up to 75 pounds.

  • Able to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.

  • Practical experience using standard hand and power tools.

  • Proven ability to complete work with minimal supervision.

  • Background in gas, electric, plumbing, or steam system repairs is considered a plus.

  • At least 5 years of experience in refrigeration, ice machine service, commercial kitchen equipment repair, or a closely related field.

  • Strong organizational abilities with a proactive, team-driven mindset.

  • Physical capacity to perform walking, standing, driving, sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, bending, twisting, and turning for extended periods (up to an 8-hour shift).

    Field Service Technician Job Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, service, and repair refrigeration systems and ice machines.
  • Complete all service documentation clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.

  • Work with the Parts Department to ensure correct identification and ordering of required components.

  • Install replacement parts promptly while maintaining a high level of professionalism and craftsmanship.

  • Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and ensure proper inventory of tools and parts.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with manufacturers, sales representatives, dealers, and customers.

  • Assess service issues, gather necessary information, and develop effective repair solutions.

  • Consult with equipment manufacturers when additional diagnostic support is needed.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and clearly explain service needs and solutions.

  • Promote and recommend additional applicable services to customers when appropriate.

  • Physical aspects of the role include frequent walking, standing, driving, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and overhead reaching throughout most of an 8-hour workday. The position also involves regular travel between customer locations ( windshield time ).
