As a member of the Single Family Acquisitions Credit Risk team, you will have a direct impact on our mission to provide liquidity, stability, affordability and equity in the largest mortgage market in the world.

In collaboration with leaders across the enterprise, Freddie Mac is developing a framework to identify, measure, monitor, control and report climate-related risks as well as identifying meaningful strategies to understand and mitigate climate risk.

Your Impact:

  • Lead efforts on behalf of Single-Family Acquisitions (SFA) Division to develop appropriate business strategies related to climate risk and resiliency.
  • Engage with industry leaders and regulatory agencies to stay abreast of changes, opportunities, and emerging risks related to Climate.
  • Collaborate across departments and divisions to define climate risk and resiliency roadmap, including but not limited to product development, risk management and process integration.
  • Provide awareness and visibility related to climate risk and resiliency roadmap to ensure executive and business line awareness and alignment.
  • Serve as climate risk and resiliency subject matter expert providing as needed guidance to SFA departments (e.g. Product, Credit, Seller Engagement) to assist with successful execution against roadmap.
  • Active engagement in Freddie Mac’s Climate Consortium representing SFA. Consortium oversees corporate climate strategy and consists of leaders from business lines (1LOD) and enterprise risk management (2LOD).
  • Participate in climate risk scenario analysis reviews, provide input to ensure scenarios are appropriate for SFA business and vet potential data gaps. Ensure appropriate strategies are developed to address critical data gaps.
  • Lead research and development of new or revised collateral related policies and offerings to improve housing resilience against natural hazards and energy efficiency.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Single-Family risk management process

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of proven experience, including 4+ years leading a team
  • BS/BA degree in a quantitative field or relevant experience
  • Experience in financial services
  • Ability to translate and present sophisticated data in a manner that educates, improves understanding and influence decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking, relationship management, and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Advanced studies/degree preferred
  • Single family housing experience in new construction methods and standards preferred

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $189,000 - $283,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
