Role Summary We are seeking a skilled and creative Architectural Designer to design and oversee the development of xAI’s corporate building. This role involves leading architectural planning, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring the building meets aesthetic, functional, and sustainability goals. The Architect will collaborate with engineers, contractors, and xAI leadership to deliver a state-of-the-art facility that enhances employee productivity and reflects our innovative culture. This position requires technical expertise, project management skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop architectural designs, drawings, and specifications for xAI’s corporate building, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and operational needs Collaborate with xAI leadership, facilities teams, and external consultants to define project requirements, including space planning, accessibility, and sustainability goals Oversee project phases from concept design through construction, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards (e.g., LEED certification or equivalent) Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate systems into the building design Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery Incorporate innovative design solutions, such as energy-efficient systems and flexible workspaces, to support xAI’s dynamic workforce Present design proposals and progress updates to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine plans Maintain accurate project documentation using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field (e.g., Architectural Engineering) 5+ years of professional experience in architectural design, preferably for corporate or commercial buildings Proficiency with architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) Knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and sustainability standards

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree in Architecture or related field 7+ years of experience, including 2+ years leading architectural projects for corporate facilities Licensed Architect (e.g., NCARB certification or state licensure) or willingness to obtain licensure Experience with sustainable design practices (e.g., LEED, WELL Building Standard) Strong project management skills, including budgeting and timeline oversight Familiarity with corporate environments, particularly in high-tech or innovation-driven industries Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement Ability to work collaboratively in a flat, fast-paced organizational structure Proficiency with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D visualization tools Understanding of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems integration Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $85,000 - $250,000 per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at xAI.
