Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Portland State University – Position Details Proposed Start Date: 09/16/2025 Working Title: Adjunct Pool Anthropology - AY 2025-2026 Department: 220200 - ANT Anthropology Position Number: D97762 Representation: AP - AFT, Local 3571 Position Summary Portland State University's Anthropology Department invites applications for local Adjunct Instructors with expertise in core areas of anthropology and teaching experience to teach undergraduate sections of courses in anthropology. Instructors must be qualified to teach courses in one or more of the following core areas of anthropology: Socio-cultural anthropology, archaeology, or biological anthropology. Minimum Qualifications M.S. or M.A. in Anthropology (or closely related field). Previous teaching experience. Successful completion of a background check. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Anthropology (or closely related field). Previous experience teaching large undergraduate classes in anthropology.
